Our programs are designed to fit the expectations and needs of all the spectrum of fly-fishing addicts, from the very beginners to the most experienced.
Being the least dense populated territory of Chile, the XI region of Aysén concentrates the most relevant fishing destinations of Chilean Patagonia. The programs offered by SouthAnglers cover the premium and vast majority of the region’s destinations, including extraordinary trips into the depths of the backcountry in search of the quintessential fishing nirvana.
Our programs are completely flexible in terms of the length of your stay, starting from day-trips near Coyhaique to multiple-week expeditions to remote waters.
Browns and rainbows are the regular catch, with the occasional chance of a Chinook or a Coho.
The season goes from the first Sunday of October until the first Sunday of May and the best dry fly period is between January and March.
The local eco-regions that may be visited vary from temperate rainforest to the semi-arid Patagonian steppe, also known as “pampa”. In terms of weather stability, both are equally unpredictable, therefore you should always be prepared for sun, rain, wind and even snow when fishing. And as you probably heard before, all could happen in one day!
