Villa O’Higgins is truly the ultimate fly-fishing frontier in Chilean Patagonia.
It’s remote, wild and virtually unexplored. With a 500-inhabitant town, the fishing pressure in this secluded place is close to zero. This program is designed for those that are in search of the ultimate fly-fishing adventure; this includes long drives, crazy weather conditions and overnight camp outs. What you get in exchange is the chance of fishing in breath-taking landscapes, in an unparallel solitude with waters that produce some of the largest fish to be found in this region.
Our base is the small town of Villa O’Higgins; here you stay at a comfortable cabin, where delicious home cook food awaits for you at the end of every day. From there, we head out to any of the several different waters we fish, both lakes and streams. This program includes a camp out expedition to some recently discovered waters, plenty of large trout ready to hit some flies. Without a doubt there are very few places in our planet that could have better fishing than V.O., and all local guides know this, and we hope it stays as a secret between you and us...
These expeditions require perfect planning; therefore they should be organized with time in advance. |

How to get to V.O.
- Charter flight from Coyhaique
- Land drive from Coyhaique
The drive takes one and a half days, 12 hours total driving. First day gets us to Cochrane; then the next day all the way to V.O. It’s a long way, but the drive down the austral highway is incredibly rewarding by itself as it’s full of unforgettable vistas. An alternative to make the trip a little easier on the body is to stay an extra day in Cochrane and fish the nearby waters. |
